Shipping and Packaging with Focus on Environmental Impact
In online shopping, packaging and transport are among the activities with the largest climate footprint. This also applies to our online store, where these processes are necessary to deliver goods to our customers.
This page has been created to provide insight into the choices we have made regarding how we handle some of the environmental consequences that come with packaging and delivery – both through reduction and partial compensation of CO₂ emissions.
PACKAGING WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF RECYCLING
We package all orders in materials selected with a focus on recyclability. This includes plastic bags made from recycled plastic and cardboard boxes that are FSC-certified. The FSC certification indicates that the paper comes from forests where consideration is given to the forest's natural regeneration.
To reduce the need for extra packaging, our packaging solutions are designed to also be used for return shipping. Additionally, we assess whether returned materials can be reused internally within the company. If that is not possible, they are submitted for recycling through local programs.
Shipping with Climate Compensation
We collaborate with PostNord and DHL Express for package shipments. Transport remains a significant source of CO₂ emissions in e-commerce. Although our partners are working on reducing their emissions – for example, by using electric vehicles or renewable energy – there is still a need to take additional steps.
Part of our approach is to use climate compensation. This means we support projects that contribute to reducing CO₂ globally. This is done through collaborations with our shipping partners and independent initiatives.
PostNord supports nature projects in collaboration with the Danish Nature Foundation, including a project in Hals Mose.
DHL Expressis involved in similar climate projects, which you can read about through their platform.
